The Power of Incremental Change
Small change practiced consistently over time produces powerful results.
How often have you gotten discouraged when the change you longed for was met with what felt like another epic fail? Tempted to give up, walk out or throw in the towel? Is there a dream you have packed away because you have stumbled over it one too many times?
The power of incremental change over time is powerful. Many people underestimate this. They think they have to take wild huge action to achieve anything significant.
Wrong.
What we often don’t realize is small, daily movement toward the change we desire done consistently over time can lead to big results!
Do you have a big hairy audacious goal?
Lose Weight.
Pay off Debt.
Travel.
Raise spiritually healthy children.
Change your career path.
Build stronger relationships.
Run a marathon.
Write a book.
The list is endless!
The question is not only what would you like to change… but are you willing to begin ?
I’m convinced you can do almost anything if you are willing to consider your goals and then begin the process with small and steady steps.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…. Hebrew 12:1&2

There is strength in numbers & we all need someone to cheer us on and kick us in the pants once or twice. Don’t worry about how big the goal is- just start. That’s it. Just do something. Anything…. just begin.
I am cheering you on… and I am cheering myself on too.
( go YOU.. go ME!)
Question: What is the hope big or small you have pushed to the background? What change are you looking for and what are you willing to do to make it happen? What small steps could you take today to move you toward a big and audacious victory? Who could you enlist to help you get started?
Dust it off- write it down- tell at least one person what it is and ask them to hold you accountable for beginning the process.
Here is one of my favorite verses- post it pin it cut up and paste where you can see it!!
He is the God who says we can accomplish all things through him. (Philippians 4:13)
small stuff leads to big stuff

Nancy, I just found your blog yesterday while registering for the IN RL conference. PS…I’m in Kalamazoo, so I’m looking forward to meeting you. I just have to know….How did you find my New Year’s goal list? Honestly, 7 of the 8 things you listed are on my list! I realized it was an overwhelming list, so I condensed it. I told myself that my goal needs to be to just be better than the person I was yesterday, meaning I need to be a better friend, better steward of my finances, better wife and mother, better keeper of the health I have, etc. I try to wake up with that focus everyday, and somehow it helps me to stay on track towards achieving my goals.
Shannon- 🙂 you were blessed and encouraged by the post! Kudos for the focus to be all you are called to be… I find if I set BIG goal and it is just “out there” .. it stays- umm just out there! But if I slice it into smaller more digestible pieces I am more likely to experience it. My issue is i have TOO MANY things I want to do, books to read and places to go…. sigh- sounds like another blog post in the making.
Thanks for stopping by- I am very much looking forward to the conference too- how fab it will be to meet in person!!
Blessings- Nancy

“Just start.” That was my motto when I found Word Weavers on the Internet and began writing again. Now I think I need to “just continue.” 🙂
You go girl.. step by step you will be led – doors will continue to open 🙂
