Spoil Yourself Silly ; Secrets of Simplicity
Sometimes my clients feel strapped financially or have made a conscious decision to cutback spending and motivate their journey towards simplicity. If you find yourself in either or both of these situations and you read the words “Spoil Yourself Silly” – don’t despair. It is possible and anc be fun too. Creativity is the mother of all invention! Having fun and living with abundance does not have to equate to spending money. In fact, likely you will have more fun and enjoy the journey more by choosing to look for ways to spoil yourself on a shoestring!
- Sit by a pond or river for 20 minutes or more
- Take a chair to your local park and have a picnic. Bring a good book for a bonus moment.
- Go to your local art museum (even if you don’t “understand art”- do it anyway!)
- Stop at your local flower shop or greenhouse and smell the flowers (especially great in the dead of winter)
- Check out books, CD’s and magazines from your local library
- Sit in a beautiful cathedral or church to pray, meditate and listen
- Go to a pet store or local shelter to pet the puppies or volunteer to walk the dogs
- Search out an elegant old hotel in your city and have tea.
- Watch the sunset with a friend, share a glass of wine or cup of java while you do.
- Volunteer to usher at a local theatre or concert and see the show for free
- Have a hot fudge sundae with the works- minus the guilt.
Today’s Challenge- Be creative with the ideas above and add some of your own. Choose a few and carve out an afternoon or a few hours to experience them.
- Share your ideas in the comments and let us know what you are doing and how you intend to challenge yourself in the days to come.
- What have you done in the past to feed your spirit?
- What made that moment special to you?
If you are enjoying this journey please invite your friends, family and random strangers to join in- the world will be a better place because of it! Share the love and bring them along or stop by Facebook for more love as you begin to enjoy a richer life you cherish!
Blessings- Nancy
