Isn’t It Time for a Coffee Break – Giveaway!
Last summer I had the privilege of attending a fabulous speaker’s conference in Grand Rapids Michigan hosted by Carol Kent and the incredible team from “Speak Up Conference.”
During the weekend, I met Amelia Rhodes, a delightful lady with an incredible smile and infectious personality while we were standing in line for the salad bar. We chatted for a few moments and later found ourselves at the same table for lunch. After a few moments of conversation I felt as though she were someone who would be a fun and fabulous friend to whomever may be blessed to have her in their life.
Later, I connected with her again via facebook and much to my pleasure was asked to review her soon to be released book “Isn’t It Time For a Coffee Break”. What a treat!
Amelia lives in Michigan and has been married to her high school sweetheart Kedron for 15 years. Together they have two young children who are the delight of their life! She loves having coffee breaks with friends and has a passion for encouraging women to share an authentic life together. Ameila is featured in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Here Comes the Bride, and is a regular contributor for Circle of Friends (www.ourcircleofriends.org) in addition to having been featured on The Burnside Writers Collective.
She draws from her own life experiences and the stories of others to look at the impact a life lived with honesty, generosity and forgiveness can have when walked out according to God’s plan.
I am a coffee loving, friend meeting, doing life together kind of girl- and I found this lovely collection of inspiration, encouragement and an occasional convicting kick in the pants- very much like time spent with a treasured friend. “Coffee Break” offers humor and an insightful Bible-based outlook sprinkled with an opportunity to discover the beauty and fulfillment of spending time with sisters in Christ.
With six short, easy to read chapters, and discussion questions for each chapter, this book is ideal for small groups or book clubs.

Yes, it is definitely time for a coffee break! I would have “burned out” many times without those coffee break moments with God or a friend. The coffee makes me feel more alert and warmed while the conversations make me feel encouraged and inspired. Nancy, I love how you describe this book like a coffee break with a treasured friend. It whets my appetite to read it!
Coffee and Girlfriend time! ( and maybe some knitting too?) Always adds joy, to share with uplifting friends, in Christ. Sounds like a very good book. Now I want coffee….. 🙂
I agree… no better way to spend time with friends than a cup of hot coffee… add the knitting and – it becomes more precious! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by-

So many thoughts went through my mind as I read this blog. Your new friend reminds me of my bff of the past almost 20 years, a God Send no doubt. Everyone wants to be her friend, she has a way with people that I admire very much, she is a blessing to be around. Her high self esteem lifted me out of a life of self doubt. We are total opposites and the Lord brought our paths together and be both grew in it. Second I have had quiet a few people tell me I should write a book, but until recently I had too much fear because of the little schooling ….8th grade doesn’t get you far in this world, but God has plans for all my losses, battles and shortcomings and they are gently held in His hands. The third thing is I LOVE MY COFFEE and wouldn’t start my day with the LORD any other way. I’m simple and black with nothing else is my choice. Last but not least, my bff has a small group she calls “book club” and it sounds PERFECT to share with them. Thanks for the blessing of this blog….and God Bless where we all end up on this FANTASTIC JOURNEY..called LIFE. AMEN!!
Kerri – you DO have a story to tell….grace, strength faith and a walk through the valley -(thankful to have you in my life for so many years! )
Blessings-
Nancy
DITTO….<3 Your a joy!!
I love the smell of coffee…rich, pleasant, satisfying and joyful! My only problem, the taste. My coffee needs to be rather decadent in order for me to enjoy it. What’s coffee without some added milk and chocolate! I know it’s an affront to my diehard drink it black fans, but I can’t help it.
