Hold a grudge or laugh- your choice
“Life is too short, grudges are a waste of perfect happiness, laugh when you can, apologize when you should and let go of what you can’t change. ” — Unknown
I love this quote. It carries an incredible amount of wisdom. The more life I live, the more convinced I am of the truth in these few words. Life is short. Moments can bring a shift and events can occur that change everything. Problems, challenges, hurts and worries we dealt with yesterday become small and insignificant when they are silhouetted against the backdrop of today.
Holding a grudge does not help you nor hurt another- it only robs you, the one holding the grudge of the possibility of moving on to a richer deeper future. Why would we give someone else that much power in our lives?
Laughter – I love it.
Children laughing, babies giggling, families with inside jokes- awesome.
Belly laughs, tears running down checks laughter and smiles so big faces almost hurt kind of laughter- incredible.
Many facets of life I can not change. Some I can.
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.”
I am challenged anew to search for those places in my life and the world around me that I can change, and to release into the hands of God the spaces beyond my grasp and control.
“Bitterness is a poison you drink, hoping someone else will die.” Your blog made me think of this. Glad to see you here. Cindy
I don’t know who to attribute the quote to, but apparently there is some confusion about who first said it.
