Billy Graham has a few words yet to say…
He is 95 years old and many have gathered in North Carolina tonight to celebrate the life and legacy this man has lived.Unassuming, but even in his waning years…he still has a message for America.
I paused in the midst of what I was doing and listened as bits and slices of his life were played upon the screen,. Tightness rose up at the back of my throat as my heart began to pray Lord- we need you…in this land and in this world more than ever before. I need you.
I sat and listened as he spoke via video his final message to our nation and the world. My heart was warmed touched and convicted. He loves God, always. He does not waver, stumble or fall. He is frail, but a mighty warrior. So many lives changed because of the simple uncomplicated gospel he shares without shame .
His words were powerful from man so frail. His heart is strong. Amazing the Jesus who lives in him has become his strength. Simple Faith. A legacy for generations yet to come.
The holidays are once again coming. Tonight I put up our Christmas Tree the earliest I have ever began the decorating .
My rational for pulling out dusty boxes in early November is uncomplicated.
I long to celebrate the simple faith of Christmas. I need Advent. I need preparation time. I need to find the pause button and step back. I need this year to be different.
Lord prepare me to welcome you afresh and anew ….Amen
- Am I the only one?
- How do you find advent?
Please share you thoughts and ideas on how you plan to prepare your heart for the arrival of the King.
Blessings!
I enjoy Christmas music all year round. O come O Come Emmanuel never ceases to bring me up in sudden awareness. Billy Graham is an inspiration
Christa- the beauty of the Christmas season, when we stop and savor it can be incredible. My struggle is when I allow myself to be sucked into the craziness that is Christmas in the 21st century- I am disappointed and void of any joy. This must change.
Thank you for stopping by ! 🙂
